In this image released by the Texas Military Forces, soldiers with the 836th Engineer Detachment participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony officially welcoming the detachment to Austin. The 836th Eng. Det. Is a part of the 6th CBRN Task Force, a unit trained to augment civilian emergency response in the event of a chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear incident. The creation of the detachment allows the Texas National Guard to better position itself to respond during times of need.
