California National Guard Soldiers are trained to use fire shelters during hand crew training Sept. 6 at Camp Roberts. The colored fire shelters are for training only while the real ones are aluminum colored and are used as a last resort when surrounded by fire. The Soldiers headed out Sept. 7 to the Salmon-August Complex Fire near Etna, California and the Mission Fire, near Oakhurst, California.
