    Staff. Sgt. Jeffrey Knoles, a Soldier assigned to 2nd Battalion, 149th Aviation Regiment, Texas Army National Guard, gives the ‘all clear’ after boarding a CH-47 Chinook helicopter at Sour Lake, Texas Sep. 1, 2017. The Chinook carried food, water and other needed supplies to communities in need after Hurricane Harvey. The Department of Defense is conducting Defense Support of Civil Authorities operations in response to the effects of Hurricane Harvey. DSCA operations are part of the DoD’s response capability to assist civilian responders in saving lives, relieving human suffering and mitigating property damage in response to a catastrophic disaster.
