170826-N-VN584-210 PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 26, 2017) Aviation Machinist’s Mate 1st Class Amanda Goudberg, assigned to the Redcocks of Strike Fighter Attack Squadron (VFA) 22, uses a hydraulic lift to perform maintenance on an F/A-18F Super Hornet in the hangar bay aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). Theodore Roosevelt is underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests a carrier strike group’s mission-readiness and ability to perform as an integrated unit through simulated real-world scenarios.
