U.S. Marines set up communications before inserting reconnaissance Aug. 25, 2017, in Hokudaien, Japan, during the final exercise portion of Northern Viper 2017. Northern Viper is a combined-joint exercise held to enhance regional cooperation between participating nations to collectively deter security threats.
