Lance Cpl. Dennis J. Smith is a Motor Transport Mechanic with 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines, Headquarters and Support Company, 1/3. Dennis is supporting training in Hokudaien, Japan, during Northern Viper 17. Northern Viper is an exercise held to strengthen the relationship with our Japanese Allies by training side-by-side. Smith believes that without mechanics, the Marine Corps wouldn’t be what it is today. “Without working vehicles, Marines would have a much harder time going where they need to go, whether it’s to combat or in garrison.” said Smith, a Platte City, Missouri native.
