170818-N-ZL062-041 CORAL SEA (Aug. 18, 2017) Sailors heave a line attached to Landing Craft Utility (LCU) 1651 as it enters the well deck of the amphibious transport dock USS Green Bay (LPD 20) to offload 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit personnel, equipment, and vehicles. Green Bay, part of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group (BHR ESG), and 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) are participating in certification exercises (CERTEX) to increase joint capability to respond to a number of potential contingencies. CERTEX is conducted to evaluate the integration of all elements of the BHR ESG testing their combined ability to plan for and execute mission essential tasks.
