CAMP GONSALVES, OKINAWA, Japan— Sgt. Terrin Spittle stands outside of the Jungle Warfare Headquarters Aug. 14 aboard Camp Gonsalves, Okinawa, Japan. Spittle embodies the warrior ethos of the Marine Corps. Mere weeks after being in a severe motorcycle wreck, Spittle stood alongside his men in the field, his flak compressing his injuries. Spittle’s contagious motivation continues to influence junior Marines across Okinawa as he leads the most grueling training on island. Spittle is a Stockton, California, native and a Jungle Warfare Training Instructor with Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. (U.S. Marine photo by Lance Cpl.
