PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 16, 2017) Sailors assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey (DDG 97) handle lines during a replenishment-at-sea with the dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Matthew Perry (T-AKE 9). Halsey is underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group. COMPTUEX tests a carrier strike group’s mission-readiness and ability to perform as an integrated unit through simulated real-world scenarios.
