170815-N-ZL062-044 CORAL SEA (Aug. 15, 2017) Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) depart the well deck of USS Green Bay (LPD 20) in combat rubber raiding crafts to conduct a nighttime raid. Green Bay, part of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group (BHR ESG), and the 31st MEU are participating in certification exercises (CERTEX) to increase joint capability to respond to a number of potential contingencies. CERTEX is conducted to evaluate the integration of all elements of the BHR ESG testing their combined ability to plan for and execute mission essential tasks.
