Sgt. Kyle H. Hernandez, a squad leader with India Company, Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, demonstrates a speed reload with his M4 carbine during close-quarters battle training aboard the USS Ashland (LSD 48) while underway in the Pacific Ocean, August 7, 2017. A speed reload allows the Marines to get back in the fight as fast as possible by replacing an empty magazine with one containing rounds. Marines with India Company, the mechanized raid company for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, train regularly to enhance their understanding and capabilities for battle at close quarters. The 31st MEU partners with the Navy's Amphibious Squadron 11 to form the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group.
