PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 2, 2017) Sailors assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) prepare to fire a shot line to the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Henry J. Kaiser (T-AO 187) during a replenishment-at-sea. Theodore Roosevelt is underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with its carrier strike group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests a carrier strike group’s mission-readiness and ability to perform as an integrated unit through simulated real-world scenarios.
