    NEW YORK (July 28, 2017) Cmdr. Christian Gaskill, commanding officer of Navy Recruiting District New York and native of Indianapolis, Indiana, getting his command pin put in place by his wife Lori during a change of command ceremony in One World Trade Center. The New York recruiting district was officially established in 1972 to help create an all-volunteer naval force and consists of more than 40 recruiting stations covering New York, Long Island and northern half of New Jersey.
