Lance Cpl. Matthew Larkin, a construction wireman with Regimental Combat Team 8, clears rubble out of a trench aboard Camp Delaram, Afghanistan, Jan. 30. The trench will be used to lay power lines for building on the base. Larkin, a Cortland, N.Y., native, is just beginning his yearlong tour to Afghanistan.
