10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) Soldiers traverse down the side of a peak in Colorado's Tenmile Range, June 20, 2017. A fixed line is an anchored rope that makes moving across difficult terrain faster and safer. The movement was part of the Special Operations Advanced Mountaineering School’s Senior Mountaineering Course culminating exercise. Students in the course had to lead a large group of Soldiers through a mission on the 13,000-foot peak before they could earn the title of Senior Mountaineer. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt.
