Airmen from the 455th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron discuss trench and excavation work during a visit to a contractor's work site. The Airmen visited the waterline trench site, alongside the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing Occupational Safety manager, to learn about the hazards of such work, as part of the Trench Safety Stand-down week. Preventable incidents in trench work often lead to fatalities--at a rate much higher than in similar construction projects.
