(Left) Heavy Equipment Mechanics Mack Brown and Patrick Jackett from Production Plant Albany, Ga., work atop an LAV-ATM learning to install the Modified Target Acquisition System turret looming over them, June 15. The MTAS is capable of acquiring a target and tracking it while moving so that the Tube-Launched Optically-tracked Wire-guided missile, or TOW, can knock out an enemy tank from nearly two miles away. Artisans from PPA as well as Production Plant Barstow are training at the Marine Depot Maintenance Command facility aboard the Yermo Annex of Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow.
