The image shows a concrete or stone surface with a rectangular discoloration or residue mark near the center. The lighter, yellowish-tan rectangular patch contrasts slightly with the surrounding gray-beige concrete. The surface appears weathered and granular, consistent with aged pavement or a stone slab.

Faded gold-painted bars and purple letters were sidewalk markers that the Air National Guard’s Academy of Military Science officer candidates once used for daily formations at the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center in East Tennessee. AMS commissioned more than 14,600 officers in the six-week program between 1971 and 2009 before moving to Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.
