U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Justin Collins, a Vehicle Maintenance General Purpose Mechanic with the 101st Air Refueling Wing, Maine Air National Guard grinds the bed of a dump truck, 101st Air Refueling Wing, Bangor, ME, Jun 13, 2017. Rust, also known as iron oxide, is a compound created when metal containing iron is exposed to oxygen and moisture for long periods of time causing bonds in the metal to weaken. Grinding is used to remove rust and the area is then treated with a bed liner applied by a roller to increase vehicle use longevity. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Staff Sgt. Travis Hill)
