Marines assigned to Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa begin the run portion of the 2017 Memorial Day “Murph” Challenge at Morón Air Base, Spain, May 29, 2017. The “Murph”, named in honor of Medal of Honor recipient and Navy Seal Lt. Michael P. Murphy, was started in remembrance of Murphy after he was killed in action in June of 2005. The “Murph” is a compilation of his favorite exercises, starting with a one-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats and a final one-mile run. (U. S. Marine Corps photo by Staff Sgt.
