    APS International Staff Training Kicked Off in Naples

    African, European and U.S. military representatives conduct a mock press conference on Naval Support Activity Capodichino, in preparation for the 2011 Africa Partnership Station missions scheduled to start in February. The APS international staff will train for 12 days covering topics such as outreach programs, staff structure and the finalization of deployment details. The international representatives will make up the core of the 2011 APS staff and include 32 personnel from Cameroon, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Togo, United Kingdom and United States. APS is an international security cooperation initiative, facilitated by Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa, aimed at strengthening global maritime partnerships through training and collaborative activities in order to improve maritime safety and security in Africa.
