Angus Ross, a Joint Military Operations professor at U.S. Naval War College (NWC), stands with a display case of uniquely crafted, scratch-built models of the United States military participation in the Battle of Midway. Ross and Jeff Landsman, an associate professor at NWC, built the models to commemorate the participants of the Battle of Midway. In honor of the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Midway, the Naval War College Museum in conjunction with the Naval History and Heritage Command unveiled a new exhibit featuring new documentary sources and artifacts. Displays include models of the key warships and aircraft involved in the Battle of Midway produced by Ross and Landsman. Drawing from their historical expertise, they used original documentary sources and consulted with underwater archaeologists to render the model warships. In addition, Rob Doane, chief curator, included previously unseen images of the Battle of Midway.
