Joy Elementary/Middle School on Commander, Fleet Activities Chinhae. C.T. Joy first opened in 1960 and was named after Adm. Charles Turner Joy, who served through World War I, World War II and the Korean War. He served as commander of U.S. Naval Force Far East and as the superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy before retiring in 1954. After 57 years, C.T. Joy will close its doors on June 16, 2017.
