Petty Officer 3rd Class Kaylynn Barajas, a steelworker from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 3, looks at photos of her children on Facebook while on a break. Facebook and other social media sites are being used heavily by the Seabees of NMCB 3 as a primary means of keeping in touch with family members while deployed. NMCB 3 is deployed to Southern Afghanistan to provide construction and engineering support to the regional commanders. NMCB 3 is part of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command’s warfighting support elements, providing construction operations and security in support of overseas contingency operations.
