(Ret) Ben Skardon, 99, recipient of two Silver Stars and three Bronze Stars for valor in WWII and survivor of the Bataan Death March, places a flag on Otis Morgan’s stone in Clemson University’s Scroll of Honor during a flag placing ceremony in preparation for Memorial Day observances, May 25, 2017. Morgan and Skardon were both Clemson alums and Prisoners of War together. Skardon credits Morgan and another fellow Clemson alum, Henry Leitner, for keeping him alive during his worst days as a POW.
