An Iranian coast guard search and rescue vessel comes to the aid of two stranded Iranian mariners in the Arabian Gulf, Nov. 18. Operating under the command of Combined Task Force 152, USS Oscar Austin provided food and water to the mariners after spotting their life raft. The destroyer remained on-scene until the Iranian coast guard arrived to retrieve the two men. CTF 152, currently commanded by Kuwait Navy Col. Abdullah Dashti, coordinates theatre security cooperation activities with regional partners and conducts maritime security operations in the Persian Gulf.
