Staff Sgt. Joel H. Trammell Jr., the non-commissioned officer in charge of the 88th Chaplain Detachment, 7th Warrior Training Brigade, 7th Civil Support Command, describes his experiences to Command Sgt. Maj. Michael E. Biere, the command sergeant major of the 7th CSC, upon returning to Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Nov. 2 after a nine month deployment to Iraq to augment the 1st Infantry Division in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Trammell, a native of Chicago, Ill., and a chaplain's assistant, was awarded an Army Commendation Medal and a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his performance.
