Marines with 3rd Battalion 6th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, participate in unit physical training in the hangar bay of amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) April 25, 2017. This type of training helps Marines maintain a combat mindset as well as uphold traditional standards. Bataan and its Amphibious Ready Group is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
