PACIFIC OCEAN – Marines with Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit give commands to a simulated mob during Composite Training Unit Exercise aboard USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), May 12, 2017. Non-lethal force training is explicitly designed and primarily employed to incapacitate targeted personnel or materiel immediately, while minimizing fatalities, permanent injury to personnel, and undesired damage to property in the target area or environment.
