Airmen from the 386th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron Aerial Port prepare to push pallets of cargo from a K-loader onto a waiting C-17 Globemaster III at an undisclosed air base here Nov. 3, 2010. A K-loader is a specialized flat-bed truck designed to transport multiple pallets of cargo from a marshalling yard to waiting aircraft. The K-loader’s bed can be raised, lowered or pitched in four different directions so that it mates perfectly with the cargo bay of any airlifter. The bed also is fitted with a roller system that allows Aerial Port airmen to push pallets weighing up to 7,000 pounds off the truck and onto aircraft with ease.
