Brig. Gen. Michele G. Compton, commanding general of the 9th Mission Support Command, pins the Humanitarian Service Medal on Staff Sgt. Alofaaga Niumata of the Theater Support Group shakes during an award ceremony, Sept. 29, at the U.S. Army Reserve Center. Niumata was one of the many Reserve Soldiers’ whose house was significantly damaged in the tsunami and still answered the call to duty by providing disaster relief efforts in the community.
