These symbols painted on the side of an F/A-18C Hornet serving with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 232, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward), mark the number of precision strikes made on enemy locations. On Nov. 4, seven F/A-18s such as this one were used in a preplanned precision strike against known insurgent firing points and weapons caches at Kajaki Dam. Throughout the course of the day, 14,000 pounds of ordnance were dropped on 21 predetermined locations.
