Petty Officer 2nd Class Kerry McGee, a boatswain's mate, takes a medical level-of-knowledge examination aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Denver (LPD 9). The exam ensures sailors aboard Denver maintain an understanding of proper shipboard medical precautions and procedures should they be called upon to medically assist a shipmate. Denver is part of the permanently forward-deployed Essex Amphibious Ready Group and is underway for a scheduled patrol in the Western Pacific ocean.
