PACIFIC OCEAN -- A U.S. Marine with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit scouts the ocean using a Rifle Combat Optic aboard USS San Diego (LPD 22) while conducting a simulated straits-transit drill during Composite Training Unit Exercise, May 5, 2017. During this drill, Marines and Sailors defend the Amphibious Task force by training to quickly and efficiently react to possible threats when transiting through an ocean strait. COMPTUEX is the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and America Amphibious Ready Group's second at-sea exercise where the Blue-Green team works together responding immediately to any event or situation in preparation for their Certification Exercise and upcoming deployment.
