A soldier carries an American flag through the rubble inside Saddam Hussein’s Victory over America palace Sept. 11 at Victory Base Complex, Iraq. Soldiers were given the opportunity to pay tribute to the victims of the 9/11 attacks by visiting and flying flags over the palace, which U.S. forces destroyed in 2003 after Saddam Hussein began construction to signify the "defeat" of America.
