Sgt. Joel Adams, the youngest Soldier to reenlist cuts the cake with 1st Cavalry Division Commander, Maj. Gen. J. T. Thomson, and Command Sgt. Maj. Maurice Jackson, command sergeant major of 1st Cavalry Division, during a Mass Reenlistment Ceremony at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, May 2.
The ceremony gave the 17 Soldiers the opportunity to be reenlisted by the 1st Cavalry Division Commander, Maj. Gen. J. T. Thomson.
“Reenlisting some amazing CAV Troopers, is the best thing I have done all day,” said Thomson.
Maj. Gen. Thomson and 1st Cavalry Division Command Sgt. Maj. Maurice Jackson presented the Soldiers with a coin and their reenlistment certificates.
The reenlistment ceremony is the Soldier's confirmation to their duty to defend the Constitution and should also serve to honor and commemorate the Soldier's pledge to serve with pride and distinction.
