Capt. Thomas Negus, commodore of Continuing Promise 2010, meets with U.S. Ambassador to Suriname John Nay during the first day of Continuing Promise 2010 operations in Suriname. The assigned medical and engineering staff embarked aboard the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima are working with partner nations to provide medical, dental, veterinary and engineering assistance in eight countries.
