U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton describes the background of the model train that she presented to Japanese Foreign Minister Seiji Maehara during their gift exchange prior to their bilateral meeting at the Kahala Resort and Hotel in Hawaii on Oct. 27. Minister Maehara was previously served as the Minister of Transportation in Japan and is known throughout Japan as having a fondness of trains. The two discussed the Japanese-American alliance, the role of U.S. forces in Japan and the overall Asia-Pacific strategy.
