On Nov. 11, Brad Stewart, bass guitarist for Shinedown, signs an autograph for Navy Capt. Michael Thompson, officer in charge of Taqaddum Surgical Detachment. Shinedown visited Camp Taqaddum as part of a United Service Organiztions-sponsored tour. The band performed for hundreds and spent time with service members before and after the show. "It's been amazing seeing you guys in action (and it's important for us) to give you guys a little release, a break from everyday life," said Jasin Todd, guitarist for Shinedown. Thompson is a 43-year-old from Grand Haven, Mich. Taqaddum Surgical Detachment, 1st Marine Logistics Group is deployed with I MEF (FWD) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar Province of Iraq (MNF-W) to develop the Iraqi Security Forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic government reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi Reconstruction.
