SOUTH CHINA SEA (April 14, 2017) Damage Control Fireman Marcia Ruiz (right), from Gladstone, Missouri, and Damage Control Fireman Christopher Hauerrberg, from Chicago, remove screws from a solenoid operated pilot cover during an electrical maintenance check on an aqueous film forming foam station aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108). Wayne E. Meyer is on a regularly scheduled Western Pacific deployment with the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group as part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet-led initiative to extend U.S. 3rd Fleet command and control functions into the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
