The main seaport of Port-au-Prince is fully operational as seen in this arial photograph, March 22. United States Army and Navy units arrived mid-January and immediately began conducting Joint Logistics Over The Shore in order to provide the people of Haiti with humanitarian assistance supplies after the country suffered a catastrophic earthquake, Jan. 12. "The great benefit of JLOTS during this operation is it allowed us to bring in life-saving aid over the shore when it was most needed and the port was unavailable," said Col. Charles Maskell, brigade commander, 7th Sustainment Brigade.
