SINGAPORE (April 5, 2017) Fire Controlman 2nd Class Shameecka Avent, a native of Stone Mountain, Georgia, assigned to Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108), slices mushrooms at the Willing Hearts Soup Kitchen during a community service event in Singapore. Wayne E. Meyer is on a regularly scheduled Western Pacific deployment with the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group as part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet-led initiative to extend U.S. 3rd Fleet command and control functions into the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
