    170405-N-ME988-122 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 5, 2017) Amphibious assault vehicles assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit approach the beach to begin the exercise Alligator Dagger 17 after departing from the amphibious dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) in the vicinity of Arta Beach. The U.S. 5th Fleet-led exercise provides an opportunity to enhance multilateral capabilities in critical mission sets inherent to the U.S. Navy-Marine Corps, as well as partners and allies in the region.
