Capt. William Nels hold daughters Elli (left) and Kenadee during the Freedom Salute that was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Bismarck Civic Center to formally thank more than 275 North Dakota National Guard Soldiers who served on a year-long peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. The family members of the Soldiers were also recognized for their support throughout the mission.
