A special missions aviator with the 8th Special Operations Squadron, scans the horizon from a CV-22 Osprey over Northwest Florida, April 3, 2017. The aircrew visited Duke Field to utilize a Landing Helicopter Deck as part of a pre-deployment requirement for CV-22 aircrew to be deck qualified. The LHD will serve as part of the aircraft carrier qualification, decreasing the amount of time 8th SOS and 8th Aircraft Maintenance Unit personnel spend off station to fulfill the requirement.
