Seven boats were assembled by Marines of Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 366 for the squadron’s boat race Friday. All boats were manned by two to six Marines, and most were made with recycled materials. After the final race of the competition all the boats went back in the water and Marines jumped in to join them. Boats were capsized by mobs of Marines and “pirated,” all in good fun. Even the commanding officer, Lt. Col. Trey Meadows, jumped in and joined the excitement.
