Sgt. Maj. Ronald L. Green, the 18th sergeant major of the Marine Corps, speaks with Marines and Sailors of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), in the Pacific Ocean, April 2, 2017. Green visited the ship to provide guidance regarding the future of the Marine Corps during the 31st MEU 17.1 Spring Patrol. As the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward deployed unit, the 31st MEU’s air-ground-logistics team provides a flexible force, ready to perform a wide range of military operations, from limited combat to humanitarian assistance operations, throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
