PHILIPPINE SEA (March 28, 2017) Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force ship JS Samidare (DD-106) participates in a photo exercise with the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) Carrier Strike Group in the Philippine Sea. The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is on a regularly scheduled Western Pacific deployment as part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet-led initiative to extend the command and control functions of U.S. 3rd Fleet.
