An MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft flies over U.S. Marines on their way to checkpoint during a vertical assault on Ie Shima Island, Japan, March 24, 2017. The assault took place as part of a certification exercise conducted by Expeditionary Operations Training Group. EOTG conducts CERTEX, which involves vertical assault raids, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief training, as part of a readiness evaluation for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit to join the U.S. Navy’s 7th Fleet.
