Mark Rowe, a family medicine physician with the 21st Medical Operations Squadron out of Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., talks with a Dominician soldier working at the local community gym during a NEW HORIZONS 2017 medical readiness training exercise in Azua, Dominican Republic. Operating jointly with partner nation militaries gives U.S. personnel the opportunity to hone skills and learn best practices from different regions of the world, enabling all parties involved to jointly respond to crises, and increasing the ability of partner-nation participants to provide aid locally and to regional partners.
